Nathan Ivey started talk radio in the mid 90’s at a small public radio station in Cincinnati, Ohio (88.3). During the riots of 2001, Nathan was featured on the local television news for his commentary on the causes and solutions of the unrest. In January of 2004, after several months of sitting in for various 1230 the Buzz shows, Nathan got his shot and never looked back. Some people are born to do certain things and from day one Nathan was a natural. His “flow” is infectious. In 2005 Nathan was named “Best New Talk Radio Voice”. In 2008, Talkers Magazine, the radio industry bible, named Nathan to their esteemed “Heavy 250” list. He’s been featured on EUR.com ,The Cincinnati Herald, The News Record, and The Cincinnati Business Courier . In 2011 Nathan was named a YMCA Achiever for his work with After School programs in Cincinnati and in the same year Nathan was also named one of the “50 Coolest Cincinnatians” by Cincinnati Citybeat Magazine.
Formerly, Nathan is the host of “Ivey in the Morning” 7 am to 10 am on 1230 am WDBZ. For 10 years Nathan was the host of Straight Talk on 101.1 The Wiz where he earned the undisputed title of “King of Straight Talk”.
In 2015, Nathan took a 1000 watt radio station “viral” and delivered the highest online ratings 1230 The Buzz had ever while bringing thousands of new listeners to the station. Nathan is a natural talk talent with a unique ability to walk the tightrope between profane and profound. Fans of Nathans “flow” enjoy his unapologetic style.
Highly regarded for his insight on Hip Hop, pop culture and politics, Nathan loves to get out into the community to spread his “flow” on the issues of the day. Dedicated to the youth, Nathan has been heavily involved in youth development, with a focus on before and after school education.
